The Guide
What is Heart Base SMP?
A hardcore claim-and-raid SMP where every base lives and dies by its Heart. Here's how all the pieces fit together.
01
What is Heart Base SMP?
Heart Base SMP is a hardcore claim-and-raid survival server built on one idea: every base is anchored by a living Heart. Feed it and your territory heals and hardens. Starve it and it decays.
Around that loop sits a full blood economy, real raiding with tracking compasses, log-off heads, ruins to plunder, and a pentagon world border that forces everyone onto the same finite map. This guide walks through every system.
02
Hearts & Anchors
Your claim starts with a Heart — the anchor you place to stake your land. The anchor runs on Blood Cache.
Keep it fed and it actively heals your claim, raising the HP on the blocks inside it over time. Let the Blood Cache run dry and the anchor decays — and when it does, the HP on your claim's blocks is reduced, leaving your base soft and raidable.
03
Blood & Upkeep
Everything runs on blood, and there are three kinds. Regular blood drops from killing mobs and pays the upkeep that keeps your nodes alive. Special blood feeds your Heart Extensions. Blood Cache feeds the main Heart anchor — and you also earn it from highly-rated builds.
Miss an upkeep payment and that node or anchor begins to decay. Staying claimed is an active cost, not a one-time placement.
04
Claim Block-HP
Blocks inside a fed claim carry HP — that's your fortification. A healthy anchor pushes that HP up, turning your walls into something raiders have to grind through to break in.
If your anchor or a node decays, the HP on the blocks it covered drops back down. Defense isn't something you build once; it's something you maintain with blood.
05
Heart Extensions
Need more ground? Place Heart Extensions inside your claim. Each one extends your claim radius, and each needs special blood as upkeep. Both the anchor and its extensions cover a 100-block spherical radius.
Keep an extension fed and the blocks it covers hold their HP. Let one decay and that ground loses its protection — so your claim is only as strong as its hungriest node.
06
Raiding & Tracking
You spawn with a compass, and it's your raiding tool. Right-click it to track the ruins, hunt down valuables, and lock onto players who are carrying more than a certain emerald value of items. You can also track targets on the map.
Wealth makes you visible — the richer a base or player, the easier they are to find and hit. Carrying loot across open ground is a decision.
07
Log-off Heads
Logging off doesn't make you safe. When you disconnect you leave a player head behind, and if you're holding valuables, they can be tracked to it. You can be killed while you're logged off.
The rule is simple: only log out somewhere safe — ideally deep inside your own fortified claim.
08
Respawning
When you die, you choose where you come back: at a random Nether ruin, at a safe spot in the overworld, or at your bed.
Placing a bed sets your respawn point, so a well-placed bed inside your claim is part of staying alive.
09
Ruins & Progression
Ruins are scattered through both the Nether and the overworld, and the two give different rewards. Clearing them is how you push your progression forward.
Since valuables and ruins can both be tracked, expect company when you go digging.
10
The Pentagon Border
The world is bounded by a pentagon-shaped border, and you cannot leave it. Five hard edges mean a finite map — no running to the far corners of an infinite world.
Everyone is fighting over the same ground, which is exactly the point.
11
Custom Villagers
The server runs custom villagers with their own trades, tuned for Heart Base — not the vanilla economy you already know.
